Disposable local evaluation

See StePanel running on your machine.

The Podman demo runs the real StePanel image with synthetic site data. It binds only to localhost, uses a demo login, and has no access to your host’s production services.

Start in three commands

Build, run, inspect.

From a StePanel checkout, run the local bundle. It builds the existing container image, seeds a synthetic `greenfield.example.test` site, and starts the panel at `127.0.0.1:18080`.

bash demo/podman/run.sh
# open http://127.0.0.1:18080
# admin / demo-only-change-me

Reset the state at any time with:

bash demo/podman/reset.sh

What you can inspect

A real workflow, without real risk.

The demo is designed to make the product’s operating model visible. It is not a fake marketing screen, and it is not connected to a customer server.

DashboardInspect the operator workspace, host posture, readiness, and managed-site inventory.
Migration shapeReview the cPanel-oriented workflow and the boundaries around validation, staging, and authorization.
Durable stateSee the job and audit surfaces that make long-running operations reviewable.
Safe boundaryNo privileged helpers, SSH keys, DNS credentials, mail services, or production mounts are included.
Synthetic dataThe included site and route metadata are disposable and resettable.
Next stepFor real operations, move to a disposable VM and follow the native installation guide.

Operator boundary

Local demo first. Disposable VM next.

Podman demonstrates the control-plane experience. It does not prove that your exact webserver, database, mail, DNS, or recovery workflow is compatible. Use a disposable VM for that evaluation, preserve independent backups, and never connect the demo to customer infrastructure.
